Japanese the Game

Japanese: The Game, the breakaway hit with linguists and Otaku alike, flips the script on traditional language education. Playing the Language teaches you the grammar BEFORE the vocab, giving you a structure on which to hang new words.

How it Works

  1. The cards in this game have Japanese words on them, along with markings that help you put them together in complete, grammatically correct sentences every time.
  2. This game puts the language right in your hands, helping you learn at your own pace.
  3. Words and phrases are Japanese Language Proficiency Test aligned (N5), helping you prepare.
  4. Use any QR reader to get audio playback of word pronunciation.
  5. Core Deck has 108 cards, which is enough for up to 2 players. To accommodate more players, each Expansion provides enough cards for an additional player.
  6. Expansion has 54 cards, which is enough to add 1 player to your Core Deck.

The Method of Learning

The game is played like a live-action version of Mad Libs.  The cards in your hand are words, and you use them to make sentences.  You can play with a shared deck or players can bring their own.
